    Search holdings

    What it does

search_holdings searches extracted holdings (právne vety) from Slovak court decisions. A holding is the generalized rule one decision applied — the transferable point of law, separated from the facts of that case. Each hit carries the holding as a paraphrase, the court's own passage it was extracted from, the source decision, and whether that decision sits in the current authority selection.

Like every tool in this connector, it is read-only, covers Slovak law only, and its output is informational, not legal advice.

    Inputs

    NameTypeRequiredDescription
querystringYesNatural-language description of the legal point.
act_refstringNoRaw act reference as courts write it, e.g. 40/1964 Zb. — restricts hits to holdings applying that act.
sectionstringNoBare paragraph number (e.g. 711). Applies only together with act_ref.
    limitintegerNoMax hits (default 10).

    Example

Asked whether a lease can be terminated without stating a reason, the calling AI runs search_holdings with query: "výpoveď nájmu bez uvedenia dôvodu" and act_ref: "40/1964 Zb.", then presents the holdings as rules the courts applied, quoting only evidence.passage as the court's words.

    Notes

    • holding_text is a paraphrase — present it as one; only evidence.passage may be quoted as the court's wording.
    • decision.url is empty about half the time; when it is, there is no public page to check the passage against, and the AI should say so.
    • An empty result is not proof that no case law exists — this index covers roughly 3 % of the corpus. Fall back to Search case law.
    • Debits your monthly corpus quota (see Usage limits).
